Welcome to the Crowfall Leveling Guide. In this guide we will walk you through the leveling experience in Crowfall (LAUNCH 6.5) where you will learn the basics of your character and also face a couple of tough decisions when finalizing your character. You will start off in Gods Reach, a pure tutorial(PvE) zone until you reach level 25-30 where you will then enter the zone Skypoint inside Godsreach where you will start to have to face other players. In this guide I will give you all the tips you need as a new player.
Note : While most of the information in this video is completely relevant still, it should be said they changed the later half the NPE that I have detailed in the written guide and marked in the video.
Before we begin, a few tips for you, especially if this is your first time.
- Talent & Attribute points are very expensive to respec, and you only get 15 Talent Points. (or requires VIP)
- Quests (Not Mobs/Grinding) are the fastest way level 1-18.
- Once you are Level 18 and grinding Mobs, selling all the weapons and armor you get will yield you lots of gold to buy you important upgrades.
- Find a guild if you are new, they are often willing to help you level.
- Leveling is easier in groups, as XP is shared from Mobs.
- AoE Spells and Abilities help clear content at low levels.
- Characters with stealth or lifesteal will be easier to survive with
- Upgrading vendor gear will make you much stronger than the mobs in the new player experience
- At Level 25 you are vulnerable to PvP in the Faction vs. Faction zones where you continue your leveling experience to 30.
Gods Reach - Levels 1-25
Now that you've created your first character after carefully picking a Race & Class, you're going to load your character into the Starter World "Gods Reach" where you will begin your leveling experience with the Sentinel of Earth.
Follow the Questline
Now you're going to want to follow the questline as it teaches you some of the basics of the game and will be the fastest way to level to 18.
Use your Quest Log
If you get lost or forget what part of the New Player Experience you should be doing, the game gives you a Quest Log accessible by hitting (esc) to open your menu and it will be the book with a question mark on the left side of your screen. Click that to see your Quest Log and click "Review" to see your current quest.
Follow your Quest Mark
Your Quest Mark will be displayed on your compass at the top of your screen and in your zone map.
All Lore Labeled & Unneeded items can be sacrificed at the Altars in the Temples for free exp. This will progress you several levels early if you have enough loot.
While you are leveling 1-30 you are going to want to spend your Attribute and Talent points as you'd assume that's going to give you the power you need to level up faster. This is true, but you have to be careful with the choices you make when distributing those Talent and Attribute points. Respecs are very expensive in-game (or requires VIP) and as a new player you likely won't have the resources to immediately respec.
Attributes are also expensive to refund and very important to allocate. Depending on where these are put now, they will determine how much attributes you need from Crafted Vessels and Gear.
1 Attribute point =
- +.1% Critical Strike
- +2 Attack Power
- +.1% Damage Bonus
- +.2% Critical Damage
- +.1% Healing Bonus
- +4 Support Power
- +1 Stamina
- +20 Health
All Talent Points lines are shaped as one way streets. Resetting your talents is a very expensive respec(or requires VIP). If you don't want to use a talent builder, look ahead your talent tree line and make sure you save enough talent points for everything you want at the end, as getting your domains and capstones are essential. Talent Builder here.
Reach & Grind Skypoint - Levels 15-25
Continue following all of your quests in the quest log and if you miss one, make sure to look back at the last zone you were in to see if you have a question mark for a quest there left over.
Follow the Quests until they stop
The questline will send you on a couple of cross-zone journeys. You'll have to do all these quests to maximize your experience. Try and knock out all the mobs you see around your level along the way.
Follow the Questline 25-30
Within 5-8 hours, you should be completely done with the entire New Player Experience and moving onto Skypoint, the PvP zone where you can pick a faction in the temple near the tree of life. Here you will get to experience your first group fights and sieges, so make sure to have your build and gear ready.
Good luck Crows! As a new player, I encourage you stick with the New Player Experience all the way to max level until you understand everything enough!
Level Tome : No Quests Level 25-30
So, you got VIP and you decided to skip the New Player Experience because you already fully understand the basic mechanics of Crowfall.
You get experience from all of your activities in Skypoint and zones before. The fastest way to level will be to grinds mobs at a close(not lower) level to yourself. As soon as you start grinding weaker mobs however, the experience gained is much less. You can still go through the questline they offer you at level 25, but it is tested to be faster to grind.
Sell unneeded equipment for Gold!
Leveling up in Crowfall with the New Player Experience is relatively easy and quick. But there are a lot of hard decisions to make along the way that you can mess up with if you aren't looking ahead for yourself. With this guide you should be able to plan ahead for future leveling experiences. Now you just have to invest the time into leveling a new character and getting used to the abilities and tricks of PvE in Crowfall to level faster! Good luck Crows.
